Vision

In keeping with the core values of our organization - prayer, leadership development, reaching the young harvest and stewardship - we at SFWC recognize our vision, purpose and mission as follows:

SFWC Vision Statement:  We are “called to reach” our community by connecting people to Christ - to the congregation - to the committed - to the called and to fulfill the Great Commission!

Mission:  To tell of Jesus Christ and His truths and to spread the gospel of His Kingdom so that the rule of God is brought about in the hearts of people.  Our desire is to let all we say and do serve the purpose of reaching out to the lost for Jesus Christ.  We aim to do this through:

      1.  Evangelism ~ Reaching our community with the message of Jesus Christ.

      2.  Worship ~ Raising up Christ in spirit and in truth.

      3.  Fellowship ~ Building up our congregation in love.

      4.  Discipleship ~ Training committed people in the Word.

      5.  Leadership ~ Equipping Christians for the ministry.

Statement of Faith

We believe in the Bible as the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God. Its truths are known by the illuminative revelation of the Holy Spirit. (2 Timothy 3:16)

We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 5:16,17)

We believe God is the absolute and sole Creator and Ruler of the universe, and creation was by His divine plan. (Genesis 1:1)

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, co-equal with the Father. We believe in His virgin birth and sinless life, in the miracles He performed, in His atoning death on the cross and His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory at His second coming. (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)

We believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness. (John 3:16; Acts 3:19, Romans 10:9-10)

We believe water baptism is an open confession of faith and should be performed after one accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:19)

We believe in sanctification, which enables one to live above the sinful nature of man so that man "might present himself a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God." (Romans 12:1)

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues, and the operation of His many gifts. (Acts 2:1-4, I Corinthians 12)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 12:12-14)

We believe in the sanctity of the family unit, and the importance of loving and committed Christian homes. (Mark 10:7-9)

We believe in making a positive community contribution through worship, servanthood, decency and prayer. (Matthew 21:12-16)
